Several hepatocellular carcinomas along with a few malignant lymphomas, ovarian, thyroid, prostate, gastric and pancreatic cancers displayed mModerate to strong cytoplasmic staining often combined with membranous positivity. Remaining cancers were in general weakly stained or negative.
Mucinous ovarian carcinomas and several gastric cancers as well as fractions of cases in lung, liver and pancreatic cancers exhibited moderate to strong cytoplasmic and membranous positivity. Remaining malignant tissues were negative.
Moderate to strong cytoplasmic and/or membranous immunoreactivity was observed in hepatocellular carcinomas and stomach cancers along with several skin, ovarian, urothelial, pancreatic, cervical and lung cancers. Remaining malignancies were in general negative.

Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a member of the junctional adhesion molecule (JAM) family. The encoded protein contains multiple glycosylation sites at the N-terminal region, and multiple phosphorylation sites and glutamic acid/proline (EP) repeats at the C-terminal region. The gene is expressed in normal stomach and testis, as well as in gastric, esophageal and ovarian cancers. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2009]
