Moderate cytoplasmic immunoreactivity was observed in several melanomas along with few duct carcinomas of breast and adenocarcinomas of lung. Few ovarian and colorectal cancers displayed moderate to strong staining. Remaining cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.
Most cancer tissues showed moderate nuclear and cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. Additional membranous staining was observed in colorectal cancers.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
VPS25 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
DERP9, EAP20, MGC10540
Description
Vacuolar protein sorting 25 homolog (S. cerevisiae) (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a protein that is a subunit of the endosomal sorting complex required for transport II (ESCRT-II). This protein complex functions in sorting of ubiquitinated membrane proteins during endocytosis. A pseudogene of this gene is present on chromosome 1. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]
