Most cancer tissues showed moderate to strong granular cytoplasmic and occasional membranous positivity. Most cases of renal cell carcinomas and lymphomas were weakly stained or negative.
Prostate cancers, most breast and thyroid cancers as well as a few pancreatic cancers showed strong cytoplasmic positivity. Liver cancers and several melanomas, ovarian, cervical, endometiral, urothelial, renal and gastric cancers showed moderate cytoplasmic staining with additional nuclear positivity in few cases. Remaining cancers were in general weakly stained or negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
TTC7A (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
KIAA1140, TTC7
Description
Tetratricopeptide repeat domain 7A (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a protein containing tetratricopeptide repeats. Mutations in this gene disrupt intestinal development and can cause early onset inflammatory bowel disease and intestinal atresia. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2014]
