Cancer tissues displayed moderate to strong cytoplasmic staining with additional nuclear and membranous positivity in several tissues. Majority of the cases of malignant gliomas, lymphomas, melanomas, skin, testicular, endometrial and cervical cancers were weakly stained or negative.
Weak to moderate nuclear membranous and cytoplasmic immunoreactivity was observed in most cancer tissues. Several testicular cancers along with few non-Hodgkin's lymphomas and cervical cancers were strongly stained. Gliomas, melanomas, renal and prostate cancers were mostly negative.
Cancer tissues displayed weak to moderate nuclear and occasional cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. Several cases of gliomas displayed strong nuclear staining. A majority of lymphomas, ovarian, lung and gastric cancers were negative.
Most gliomas and few cases of lymphoma were strongly stained. Remaining cancer tissues showed weak to moderate nuclear positivity.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
RPS6KA2 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
HU-2, RSK, RSK3
Description
Ribosomal protein S6 kinase, 90kDa, polypeptide 2 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a member of the RSK (ribosomal S6 kinase) family of serine/threonine kinases. This kinase contains 2 non-identical kinase catalytic domains and phosphorylates various substrates, including members of the mitogen-activated kinase (MAPK) signalling pathway. The activity of this protein has been implicated in controlling cell growth and differentiation. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.
