A few cases of hepatocellular carcinomas, thyroid, colorectal and gastric cancers displayed moderate cytoplasmic positivity. Remaining cancer tissues were negative.
Few cases of colorectal, stomach, pancreatic and liver cancers showed moderate cytoplasmic staining. Additional membranous and nuclear staining was observed in a few cases. Remaining cancers were generally negative.
Several cases of liver, pancreatic and stomach cancers along with few colorectal, cervical, lung and urothelial cancers displayed weak to moderate cytoplasmic positivity. Remaining cancers were negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
GSDMB (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
GSDML, PRO2521
Description
Gasdermin B (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a member of the gasdermin-domain containing protein family. Other gasdermin-family genes are implicated in the regulation of apoptosis in epithelial cells, and are linked to cancer. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Additional variants have been described, but they are candidates for nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) and are unlikely to be protein-coding. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]
