Cancer cells showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic, membranous and nuclear staining. Several cases of colorectal and ovarian cancers exhibited strong positivity. Cases of stomach and pancreatic cancers displayed strong cytoplasmic and membranous staining while urothelial cancers showed cytoplasmic and nuclear immunoreactivity.
Thyroid cancers showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic staining while most gliomas, melanomas and lung cancers showed weak to moderate immunoreactivity. Cancer cells in general were negative.

Gene name
KCNK6 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
K2p6.1, TWIK-2
Description
Potassium channel, two pore domain subfamily K, member 6 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes one of the members of the superfamily of potassium channel proteins containing two pore-forming P domains. This channel protein, considered an open rectifier, is widely expressed. It is stimulated by arachidonic acid, and inhibited by internal acidification and volatile anaesthetics. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
