Positivity in plasma in several tissues. Membranous expression in small intestines.
ANTIBODY IHC RELIABILITY
Data reliability description
Antibody staining mainly not consistent with RNA expression data. Secreted protein, tissue location of RNA and protein might differ and correlation is complex.
Cancer tissues displayed weak to moderate cytoplasmic staining with additional membranous positivity in few cases. Rare case of colorectal and urothelial cancer was strongly stained. Majority of cases of lymphomas, lung, skin, breast, prostate and stomach cancers were negative.
Few cases of liver, testicular, colorectal and renal cancers showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic positivity with additional membranous staining in few cases. Remaining cancer tissues were mostly negative.
Cancer tissues generally displayed weak cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. Moderate positivity was observed in most endometrial, testicular and colorectal cancers. The colorectal cancers frequently displayed positive nuclei in addition to cytoplasmic staining. Gliomas and renal cancers were negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
IL1R1 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
CD121A, D2S1473, IL1R, IL1RA
Description
Interleukin 1 receptor, type I (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a cytokine receptor that belongs to the interleukin-1 receptor family. The encoded protein is a receptor for interleukin-1 alpha, interleukin-1 beta, and interleukin-1 receptor antagonist. It is an important mediator involved in many cytokine-induced immune and inflammatory responses. This gene is located in a cluster of related cytokine receptor genes on chromosome 2q12.
