Cytoplasmic expression in lymphoid reaction centers and seminiferous ducts in testis with nuclear expression in subsets of cells in bone marrow and epithelial basal cells.
ANTIBODY IHC RELIABILITY
Data reliability description
Antibody staining mainly consistent with RNA expression data.
Weak to moderate cytoplasmic immunoreactivity, often accompanied with nuclear staining in a fraction of the cells, was observed in most malignant tissues. Renal cancers, malignant gliomas, liver cancers and pancreatic cancers were in general negative.
Malignant tissues displayed cytoplasmic or nuclear staining of varying intensity. Strongest staining was observed in malignant lymphomas and colorectal cancers.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
NCAPH (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
BRRN1, CAP-H, hCAP-H
Description
Non-SMC condensin I complex, subunit H (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a member of the barr gene family and a regulatory subunit of the condensin complex. This complex is required for the conversion of interphase chromatin into condensed chromosomes. The protein encoded by this gene is associated with mitotic chromosomes, except during the early phase of chromosome condensation. During interphase, the protein has a distinct punctate nucleolar localization. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different proteins have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]
