A few cases of colorectal, prostate, stomach, pancreatic and liver cancers displayed weak to moderate cytoplasmic positivity. Remaining cancer cells were negative.
Hepatocellular carcinomas, cervical adenocarciomas, prostate, endometrial, breast, ovarian and colorectal cancers displayed moderate cytoplasmic staining. Remaining cancer cells were weakly stained or negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
PLA2G12A (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
PLA2G12
Description
Phospholipase A2, group XIIA (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
Secreted phospholipase A2 (sPLA2) enzymes liberate arachidonic acid from phospholipids for production of eicosanoids and exert a variety of physiologic and pathologic effects. Group XII sPLA2s, such as PLA2G12A, have relatively low specific activity and are structurally and functionally distinct from other sPLA2s (Gelb et al., 2000 [PubMed 11031251]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Q9BZM1 [Direct mapping] Group XIIA secretory phospholipase A2 Q542Y6 [Target identity:100%; Query identity:100%] Phospholipase A2, group XIIA, isoform CRA_b; cDNA PSEC0079 fis, clone NT2RP2004049, highly similar to Group XII secretory phospholipase A2 (EC 3.1.1.4); cDNA, FLJ93563, Homo sapiens phospholipase A2, group XII (PLA2G12), mRNA
