Colorectal cancers showed strong cytoplasmic and embranous immunoreactivity while moderate to strong positivity was observed in most malignant carcinoids, lung adenocarcinomas, testicular, gastric, liver and pancreatic cancers. Remaining malignancies mainly showed weak staining or were negative.
Strong cytoplasmic and membranous staining was observed in malignant carcinoids, cholangiocarcinomas, adenocarcinomas in lung, colorectal, gastric and pancreatic cancers. Distinct positivity was also observed in a few cases of female genital cancers. Remaining malignancies were generally negative.
Moderate to strong cytoplasmic and membranous immunoreactivity was observed in malignant carcinoids and in most colorectal- and stomach cancers. Remaining malignant cells were in general negative.

Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a member of a family of calcium-regulated actin-binding proteins. This protein represents a dominant part of the brush border cytoskeleton which functions in the capping, severing, and bundling of actin filaments. Two mRNAs of 2.7 kb and 3.5 kb have been observed; they result from utilization of alternate poly-adenylation signals present in the terminal exon. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
