Moderate cytoplasmic staining was observed in most malignancies.
Malignant gliomas, melanomas, hepatocellular carcinomas, thyroid and renal cances were in general weakly stained or negative.
Weak to moderate cytoplasmic positivity was seen in most malignant tissues. Moderate to strong cytoplasmic and nuclear immunoreactivity was observed in hepatocellular carcinomas. Malignant gliomas, lymphomas and most breast cancers were negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
TBC1D8B (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
FLJ20298, RP11-321G1.1
Description
TBC1 domain family, member 8B (with GRAM domain) (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a protein with a TBC (Tre-2/Bub2/CDC16) domain. Some mammalian proteins with this domain have been shown to function as Rab-GAPs by binding to specific Rab proteins and affecting their GTPase activity. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]
