Most cancer tissues showed moderate nuclear membrane with additional cytoplasmic staining in most cases. A few cases of gliomas and squamous cell carcinomas of lung were strongly stained. Most cases of renal cancer were weakly stained or negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
DNAJB2 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
CMT2T, HSJ1, HSPF3
Description
DnaJ (Hsp40) homolog, subfamily B, member 2 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene is almost exclusively expressed in the brain, mainly in the neuronal layers. It encodes a protein that shows sequence similarity to bacterial DnaJ protein and the yeast homologs. In bacteria, this protein is implicated in protein folding and protein complex dissociation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.
