Cytoplasmic expression in several tissues. Highest levels in subsets of cells in seminiferous duct, the gastrointestinal tract, in lymphoid tissue and bone marrow.
ANTIBODY IHC RELIABILITY
Data reliability description
Antibody staining mainly consistent with RNA expression data.
Most malignant tissues showed weak to moderate nuclear as well as cytoplasmic positivity. Several cases of malignant lymphomas, colorectal and stomach cancers displayed strong staining.
Malignant cells showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. Malignant lymphomas and renal cancers were in general weakly stained or negative.
Malignant cells displayed moderate to strong cytoplasmic immunoreactivity.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
KIF11 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
Eg5, HKSP, KNSL1, TRIP5
Description
Kinesin family member 11 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a motor protein that belongs to the kinesin-like protein family. Members of this protein family are known to be involved in various kinds of spindle dynamics. The function of this gene product includes chromosome positioning, centrosome separation and establishing a bipolar spindle during cell mitosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
