Malignant cells were in general negative. Cases of ovarian and renal cancers showed strong cytoplasmic and nuclear staining. Several cases of gastric, prostate and breast cancers showed moderate immunoreactivity.
Moderate to strong cytoplasmic and nuclear positivity was observed in several cases of ovarian, cervical and gastric cancers. Remaining malignancies were weakly stained or negative.
Weak to moderate cytoplasmic and/or nuclear positivity was observed in most cancer tissues. Few cases of renal cancers showed strong cytoplasmic, membranous and nuclear staining. Gliomas, lymphomas, endometrial and urothelial cancers were mainly negative.
Most cancer tissues exhibited weak to moderate cytoplasmic and/or nuclear positivity. Rare cases of melanoma, adenocarcinoma of lung, pancreas and renal cancer exhibited strong positivity. Several gliomas, lymphomas, endometrial, skin and testicular cancers were negative.
Nicotinic acid (NA; niacin) is converted by nicotinic acid phosphoribosyltransferase (NAPRT; EC 2.4.2.11) to NA mononucleotide (NaMN), which is then converted to NA adenine dinucleotide (NaAD), and finally to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), which serves as a coenzyme in cellular redox reactions and is an essential component of a variety of processes in cellular metabolism including response to stress (Hara et al., 2007).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
