A few cases of seminomas and gliomas along with a rare case each of melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, low grade urothelial cancer and squamous cell carcinoma of cervix exhibited moderate cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. Adenocarcinoma of head and neck was strongly stained. Remaining cancer tissues were mostly negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
DGKZ (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
DAGK5, DAGK6, DGK-ZETA, hDGKzeta
Description
Diacylglycerol kinase, zeta (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the eukaryotic diacylglycerol kinase family. It may attenuate protein kinase C activity by regulating diacylglycerol levels in intracellular signaling cascade and signal transduction. Alternative splicing occurs at this locus and multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2010]
