ANTIBODY IHC RELIABILITY
Data reliability description
Antibody staining mainly consistent with RNA expression data. Caution, targets protein from more than one gene. Presumed off target binding observed and disregarded.
Weak to moderate cytoplasmic and occasional membranous positivity was seen in most cancer tissues. Lymphomas, colorectal and stomach cancers were negative.
Hepatocellular carcinomas along with isolated cases of urothelial cancers and follicular adenocarcinoma of thyroid showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic positivity. A single case each of breast, ovarian, cervical, head and neck and testicular cancer displayed moderate nucleolar staining. Remaining cancers were negative.
Embryonal carcinomas of testis, most liver and several urothelial cancers along with few cases of lymphomas, skin, colorectal, ovarian, pancreatic and thyroid cancers showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic and occasional membranous positivity. Remaining cancer tissues were negative.

The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This gene is part of a cluster of cytochrome P450 genes on chromosome 19. Another member of this family, CYP4F2, is approximately 16 kb away.
