Most malignancies showed weak to moderate nuclear staining, strong and distinct cytoplasmic staining was seen in hepatocellular carcinomas. Malignant lymphomas and renal cancers were virtually negative.
Most malignancies showed weak cytoplasmic staining in all cells, additional weak nuclear staining was also seen rarely. Single case of thyroid cancer showed strong cytoplasmic staining.
This gene encodes a transcription factor that appears to function in spermatogenesis. Polymorphisms in this gene are associated with measures of skeletal frame size and adult height. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
