A few cases of urothelial cancers showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic staining. Breast, prostate and renal cancers along with several carcinoids, colorectal, ovarian, lung, testicular and pancreatic cancers showed weak to moderate positivity. Remaining cancer tissues were negative.

GENE INFORMATION

Gene name

ELMOD2 (HGNC Symbol)

Synonyms

MGC10084

Description

ELMO/CED-12 domain containing 2 (HGNC Symbol)

Entrez gene summary

This gene encodes one of six engulfment and motility (ELMO) domain-containing proteins. This gene is thought to play a role in antiviral responses. Mutations in this gene may be involved in the cause of familial idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]
