Several seminomas along with few ovarian, stomach and endometrial cancers showed moderate nuclear immunoreactivity. A single case of high grade urothelial cancer was strongly stained. Remaining cancer tissues were negative.
Occasional cases of urothelial, liver, lung, testicular and endometrial cancers showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic/nuclear positivity. Other malignant tissues were negative.
Few cases of squamous cell carcinomas of lung, seminomas and occasional urothelial malignancies showed moderate to strong nuclear positivity. Other malignant tissues were negative.
Seminomas of testis showed strong nuclear staining. A single case each of squamous cell carcinoma of lung and skin along with stomach and urothelial cancers displayed strong positivity. Remaining cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
CT45A5 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
CT45-5, CT45.5
Description
Cancer/testis antigen family 45, member A5 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene represents one of a cluster of several similar genes located on the q arm of chromosome X. The genes in this cluster encode members of the cancer/testis (CT) family of antigens, and are distinct from other CT antigens. These antigens are thought to be novel therapeutic targets for human cancers. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2014]
