CELL ATLAS
The Cell Atlas provides high-resolution insights into the spatial distribution of proteins within cells. The protein expression data is derived from antibody-based profiling using immunofluorescence confocal microscopy. A panel of 56 cell lines, selected to represent various cell populations in different organs of the human body, forms the basis of the Cell Atlas. In this cell line panel the mRNA expression of all human genes have been characterized using deep RNA-sequencing. The subcellular distribution of proteins is investigated in a subset of the cell lines, and classified into 32 different organelles and fine cellular structures. The cell atlas covers 12003 genes (61%) for which there are available antibodies.

More detailed information is available on the Human Cell pages and About sections.

Example proteins in the cell atlas

CCNB1
Cyclin B1.
Protein localized to the cytosol in human and mouse cells, and expressed in a cell cycle dependent manner. The location has been validated by siRNA mediated gene silencing, analysis of GFP-tagged protein and paired antibodies.
TRAP1
TNF receptor-associated protein 1.
Protein localized to mitochondria in human and mouse cells. The location has been validated by siRNA mediated gene silencing and paired antibodies.
DAXX
Death-domain associated protein.
Localized to the nucleus and nuclear bodies. The location has been validated by analysis of GFP-tagged protein and paired antibodies.
