Most cancers displayed moderate nuclear immunoreactivity with additional cytoplasmic positivity in several cases. Several cases of pancreatic cancers, a few cases of melanomas, papillary adenocarcinomas of thyroid, adenocarcinomas of lung and stomach were strongly stained. Several colorectal, renal and endometrial cancers were weakly stained or negative.
Most malignant cells showed weak to moderate nuclear immunoreactivity. Additional cytoplasmic and membranous staining was observed in pancreatic and renal cancers. Occasional cases of malignant melanomas, lung and pancreatic cancers were strongly stained.

Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a protein with a RanBD1 domain that is found in both the nucleus and cytoplasm. This protein plays a role in nuclear export as part of a heteromeric complex. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
