Moderate cytoplasmic immunoreactivity was observed in most cancer tissues. Additional membranous positivity was displayed in colorectal, thyroid and pancreatic cancers. Several cases of melanomas along with a few adenocarcinomas of lung, colorectal and prostate cancers were strongly stained.
Most cancer tissues showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic positivity. Few cases of melanomas, testicular and pancreatic cancers were strongly stained. Gliomas along with several cases of renal cell carcinomas, skin, urothelial, lung and liver cancers were weakly stained or negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
PACSIN2 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
SDPII
Description
Protein kinase C and casein kinase substrate in neurons 2 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene is a member of the protein kinase C and casein kinase substrate in neurons family. The encoded protein is involved in linking the actin cytoskeleton with vesicle formation by regulating tubulin polymerization. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
