ANTIBODY IHC RELIABILITY
Data reliability description
Secreted protein, tissue location of RNA and protein might differ and correlation is complex. Antibody staining in cells/structures not annotated, view images.
Subsets of cells in cases of carcinoids along with cases of ovarian and prostate cancers showed moderate cytoplasmic staining. A subset of cells in cases of renal and stomach cancers displayed strong immunoreactivity. Remaining cancers were generally negative.
A majority of cancer cells were negative. Distinct cytoplasmic staining was observed in cases of hepatocellular cancers, testicular cancers and
carcinoids but also in occasional cases of other cancer tissues.

Entrez gene summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the pexin family. It is found in serum and tissues and promotes cell adhesion and spreading, inhibits the membrane-damaging effect of the terminal cytolytic complement pathway, and binds to several serpin serine protease inhibitors. It is a secreted protein and exists in either a single chain form or a clipped, two chain form held together by a disulfide bond. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
