Weak to moderate cytoplasmic positivity was observed in a most malignancies. A few cases of malignant gliomas, testicular, urothelial and liver cancers showed strong cytoplasmic positivity combined with a few cases of nuclear staining. Renal cancer and malignant melanomas were generally negative.
Most malignancies were weak to moderately stained. Cases of malignant gliomas, testicular, liver and urothelial cancers displayed strong positivity. Malignant melanomas, malignant lymphomas, squamous cell carcinomas, renal and endometrial cancers showed many unstained cases.
A majority of malignant cells displayed moderate cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. A few colorectal and urothelial cancers were strongly stained. Most squamous cell carcinomas, endometrial, renal and gastric carcinomas were negative.
Most malignancies showed moderate cytoplasmic staining. Melanomas, ovarian, cervical, stomach and pancreatic cancers were in most cases weakly stained.

Acetyl-CoA acetyltransferase 2 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
The product of this gene is an enzyme involved in lipid metabolism, and it encodes cytosolic acetoacetyl-CoA thiolase. This gene shows complementary overlapping with the 3-prime region of the TCP1 gene in both mouse and human. These genes are encoded on opposite strands of DNA, as well as in opposite transcriptional orientation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]
