Moderate to strong cytoplasmic positivity, with a granular pattern was seen in most malignant tissues. Several cases of malignant gliomas were weakly stained or negative.
Most malignant tissues showed moderate cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. A majority of colorectal cancers as well as several cholangiocarcinomas, ovarian, breast and pancreatic cancers were strongly stained. Several malignant melanomas, hepatocellularcarcinoma, lung and skin cancers were weakly stained or negative.
Most of the malignant cells displayed weak to moderate cytoplasmic and occasional nuclear positivity. Several cases of malignant gliomas, lymphomas and melanomas were negative.

Description
ZW10 interacting kinetochore protein (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a protein that is clearly involved in kinetochore function although an exact role is not known. It interacts with ZW10, another kinetochore protein, possibly regulating the association between ZW10 and kinetochores. The encoded protein localizes to prophase kinetochores before ZW10 does and it remains detectable on the kinetochore until late anaphase. It has a uniform distribution in the cytoplasm of interphase cells. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
