A majority of cancer tissues showed moderate cytoplasmic and membranous staining. Strong positivity was displayed in a majority of cases in colorectal, breast and pancreatic cancers. Lymphomas were weakly stained or negative.
A majority of the cancer tissues showed weak cytoplasmic and nuclear immunoreactivity. Several cases of malignant carcinoids, gliomas, colorectal and breast cancers showed moderate staining. Ovarian and renal cancers were generally negative.

It is also involved in other processes including cell migration and adhesion, transcriptional activation, and apoptosis. Defects in this gene cause familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), an autosomal dominant pre-malignant disease that usually progresses to malignancy.
