Most cancer tissues showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic positivity. Thyroid cancers and a few cases of adenocarcinomas of endometrium were moderate to strongly stained. Lymphomas, gliomas, testicular cancers, squamous and basal cell carcinomas were generally negative.
Cancer tissues showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic and nuclear immunoreactivity.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
NPEPPS (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
MP100, PSA
Description
Aminopeptidase puromycin sensitive (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes the puromycin-sensitive aminopeptidase, a zinc metallopeptidase which hydrolyzes amino acids from the N-terminus of its substrate. The protein has been localized to both the cytoplasm and to cellular membranes. This enzyme degrades enkaphalins in the brain, and studies in mouse suggest that it is involved in proteolytic events regulating the cell cycle. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
