Staining summary

A majority of tumour cells displayed moderate to strong cytoplasmic immunoreactivity with a granular pattern. Most cases of gliomas, lymphomas, renal and cervical cancers were weakly stained or negative.

Staining summary

Cancer tissues showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic positivity. Additional membranous positivity was seen in colorectal, prostate and pancreatic cancers. Thyroid cancers along with few cases of lymphomas and pancreatic cancers exhibited strong immunoreactivity. Gliomas, skin and cervical cancers along with some cases of urothelial and renal cancers were negative.

GENE INFORMATION

Gene name

UBASH3B (HGNC Symbol)

Synonyms

KIAA1959, STS-1, TULA2

Description

Ubiquitin associated and SH3 domain containing B (HGNC Symbol)

Entrez gene summary

This gene encodes a protein that contains a ubiquitin associated domain at the N-terminus, an SH3 domain, and a C-terminal domain with similarities to the catalytic motif of phosphoglycerate mutase. The encoded protein was found to inhibit endocytosis of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and platelet-derived growth factor receptor. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
