Weak to moderate cytoplasmic immunoreactivity was observed in most tumour tissues. Several cases of gliomas were strongly stained. Lymphomas, skin and thyroid cancers were mainly negative.
Cancer tissues showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic, membranous or nuclear positivity. Rare case of ovarian cancer was strongly stained. Lymphomas, melanomas, carcinoid, skin, lung, cervical and ovarian cancers were mainly negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
COX18 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
FLJ38991
Description
COX18 cytochrome c oxidase assembly factor (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a cytochrome c oxidase assembly protein. The encoded protein is essential for integral membrane protein insertion into the mitochondrial inner membrane. It is also required for cytochrome c oxidase assembly and activity. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]
