Cancer tissues showed moderate cytoplasmic with occasional membranous staining. Many pancreatic cancers along with a few cases of colorectal, ovarian, urothelial and stomach cancers were strongly stained. Several hepatocellular carcinomas, gliomas, lymphomas and cervical cancers were either weakly stained or negative.
Most of the cancer tissues showed moderate cytoplasmic positivity. Additional membranous staining was observed in several cases of colorectal cancers along with a few cases of prostate, pancreatic and ovarian cancers. A few non-Hodgkins lymphomas, prostate, breast, colorectal and urothelial cancers were strongly stained. Many liver and pancreatic cancers were negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
ATXN2L (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
A2D, A2lp
Description
Ataxin 2-like (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes an ataxin type 2 related protein of unknown function. This protein is a member of the spinocerebellar ataxia (SCAs) family, which is associated with a complex group of neurodegenerative disorders. Several alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
