Cytoplasmic and membranous expression in a subset of tissues including kidney tubules, salivary gland and epididymis as well as endothelial cells in most tissues.
ANTIBODY IHC RELIABILITY
Data reliability description
Antibody staining mainly consistent with RNA expression data. Antibody staining in cells/structures not annotated, view images.
Few cases of melanomas and renal cancers showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic and/or membranous/nuclear staining. Remaining cancer tissues were negative.
Rare cases of melanoma showed moderate cytoplasmic and nuclear positivity. Fraction of tumor cells in few cases of glioma and squamous cell carcinomas of skin showed moderate nuclear staining. Remaining cancers were weakly stained or negative.

Entrez gene summary
Chloride channels are a diverse group of proteins that regulate fundamental cellular processes including stabilization of cell membrane potential, transepithelial transport, maintenance of intracellular pH, and regulation of cell volume. Chloride intracellular channel 4 (CLIC4) protein, encoded by the CLIC4 gene, is a member of the p64 family; the gene is expressed in many tissues and exhibits a intracellular vesicular pattern in Panc-1 cells (pancreatic cancer cells).
