Most cancer cells showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic positivity. Melanomas, carcinoids, prostate and endometrial cancers displayed moderate to strong cytoplasmic staining. Testicular, cervical, urothelial and pancreatic cancers were negative in several cases.
Prostate cancer as well as cases of thyroid, renal, breast and endometrial cancers showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic immunoreactivity with a granular pattern. Most remaining cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
DPP7 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
DPPII
Description
Dipeptidyl-peptidase 7 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a post-proline cleaving aminopeptidase expressed in quiescent lymphocytes. The resting lymphocytes are maintained through suppression of apoptosis, a state which is disrupted by inhibition of this novel serine protease. The enzyme has strong sequence homology with prolylcarboxypeptidase and is active at both acidic and neutral pH. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
