Several cases of hepatocellular carcinomas, prostate and breast cancers showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic staining. Few cases of pancreatic and urothelial cancers along with several cases of renal cancers displayed moderate cytoplasmic and nuclear positivity. Remaining cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.
Several cases of carcinoids, prostate and renal cancers showed moderate cytoplasmic and/or nuclear staining. Remaining cancer cells were weakly stained or negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
MAPK12 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
ERK6, p38gamma, PRKM12, SAPK-3, SAPK3
Description
Mitogen-activated protein kinase 12 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
Activation of members of the mitogen-activated protein kinase family is a major mechanism for transduction of extracellular signals. Stress-activated protein kinases are one subclass of MAP kinases. The protein encoded by this gene functions as a signal transducer during differentiation of myoblasts to myotubes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
