Most cancer tissues showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic and nucelar immunoreactivity. Gliomas, lymphomas, hepatocellular carcinomas and several cases of renal and skin cancers were weakly stained or negative.
A majority of cancer tissues showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. Most endometrial cancers and several cases of colorectal, ovarian and breast cancers displayed strong staining. Most lymphomas were negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
RAP1GAP2 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
GARNL4, KIAA1039
Description
RAP1 GTPase activating protein 2 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a GTPase-activating protein that activates the small guanine-nucleotide-binding protein Rap1 in platelets. The protein interacts with synaptotagmin-like protein 1 and Rab27 and regulates secretion of dense granules from platelets at sites of endothelial damage. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]
