Nuclear and cytoplasmic expression in a subset of immune cells.
ANTIBODY IHC RELIABILITY
Data reliability description
Antibody staining mainly consistent with RNA expression data. Presumed off target binding observed and disregarded. Antibody staining in cells/structures not annotated, view images.
Rare case of glioma displayed strong nuclear positivity. Most of the lymphomas along with few cases of cervical and breast cancers were moderately stained. Remaining cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.

Description
Deoxycytidine kinase (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
Deoxycytidine kinase (DCK) is required for the phosphorylation of several deoxyribonucleosides and their nucleoside analogs. Deficiency of DCK is associated with resistance to antiviral and anticancer chemotherapeutic agents. Conversely, increased deoxycytidine kinase activity is associated with increased activation of these compounds to cytotoxic nucleoside triphosphate derivatives. DCK is clinically important because of its relationship to drug resistance and sensitivity. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
